Lesson

After a lot of attempts to catch-up with life, I have realized it's a lot more easier to do things as they come than to actually make attempts to catch-up later :-)

The Beginning

They fought. I fought back. They fought back again, and this time I fought back, and I won.

But I ain’t excited. The war has just begun.

The End

They fought. I fought back. They fought back again, and I gave up.

But I ain’t losing hopes. The war has not ended yet.

The Other Site

Can you believe it? The website is finally up and running. I had earlier written about this site and yeah, it no longer just redirects to this page anymore :-)

Well I am not saying anything much about this, and you can take a look at this for yourself over here - Partha's Lair

Okay gotto leave now, more posts later!

The Other Blog

Okay there had been something that I had wanted to update here for quite a while, and just like the other things that I had always wanted to do, this just didn’t happen. I thought I would better talk about it now. I had been living with another blog as well, apart from this one. A blog that is totally different from this one. You can checkout the blog from the link below.

Beware that this blog gives no damn about government banning sites, job hoppers, Pluto's status being stripped down, faulty signals, beautiful babes next door, vacation, gaming, trips, music, movies... and if you looking for something like this, don’t ever bother to click on the link.

This blog talks about anything other than what is spoken about above. Anything about Visual C++ and CSharp - What's new in Visual Studio, application hang, crash, stack overflow exceptions, compiler/linker errors, performance issues, Windows debugger, Visual C++ libraries... and more.

Follow the link below if you still think you are doing the right thing. :-)

The Dustbin with the Hole

The Dustbin with the Hole

I am sure you have heard about the "The Mint with the Hole", but what about the "The dustbin with the Hole"? Here is the dustbin, convenientyl placed next to the lake to take care of garbage collection, all by itself! Clever cleaners, eh? So what difference does it make when people throw their garbage right into the lake? To make things worse, I remember reading a board near the lake that said - "Help us keep the lake clean, use dustbins".

PS: I had to spend quite a few minutes, standing in front of this "cleaner's wonder" to make sure that the garbage that has managed to sit in this wonder, in spite of the hole, does not manage to sit in the snap that I had taken as well. I wonder what people around me thought though :-)

Back to life

It’s been almost 3 months since I had posted anything here, you may think. So what was I doing all these days? Was I so busy that I couldn’t even post something? Nope. Did I get bored of posting out here and ditched this place? Nope. Well, it just happened that I had decided sometime back not to post anything bad or sad in the future and that only the happy-ones get here. Fortunately or unfortunately, I did not find a reason to visit this place ever after. :-) Maybe that’s the reason this post is titled ‘Back to life’ and not ‘Were you dead?’

Okay that is just a part of it. I had in-fact got into a totally unrealistic attempt to build my site for quite a while during this time only to realize it's getting nowhere. I realized I just spent too much time and let it redirect here again, just as it was, during all these days. There were some updates to my other blog and then comes the story above. Okay more posts (and hopefully sensible ones) later!

The Outcome

They say being jobless and idle even for a few minutes is not a very good thing to happen, and I just realised that a few months back. Well, not because you could have done something better but because you land up spending a couple of hundred bucks. I was really jobless not knowing what to do with just the computer in-front of me. Interestingly, orkut didn't seem to help this time and unfortunately, I had just spoken to my friend about creating domain names for yourself. The outcome? Landed up registering a domain which in turn means the purse just got lighter. I got no clue what this domain should or will contain but it just exists now. Check out the new domain at http://parthaslair.com/ but don't get mad at me if it re-directs you back to this page.. coz that's what it does now.

Now that the domain is done, went on for a tool-hunt to get hold of some tool which would help setting up this site. Came across this kewl tool Microsoft Expression Web. Spent some time playing around with this to get a hang of it. And now that the tool is ready, smething that I thought can sit in there is a photo album (yes, I did manage to get some 200 MB Free space too) or this blog or a totally new site or one of my old site which I had created while in college or well, I don't know. Maybe everything, maybe not.

Well that's the end of it and never got a chance to think or do anything about it. It just struck me today about this one and it still exists, maybe it would take longer to host something better, but definitely not any longer to get a mention in the blog!

We're jammin', we're jammin', we're jammin', we're jammin'

Life is so weird. You spend weeks thinking, planning, studying, comparing, reading about something in all dreams to get it and then one day, all of a sudden, you happen to go in for something totally different, which you hadn't even given a thought all these days. It's just a matter of few minutes and it's all over. And am so damn excited!

We're Jammin' (jammin', jammin', jammin'), yeah-eah-eah!
I wanna jam it wid you.
We're jammin', we're jammin', we're jammin', we're jammin',
We're jammin', we're jammin', we're jammin', we're jammin';
Hope you like jammin', too.

Away from the concrete jungle - Day II

Continued from Day I

A Good Morning

Woke up after a nice sleep, not missing the sunrise seemed to be more interesting than lying inside the blanket. Opened the window just above the head and it was still dark outside. It was 6 in the morning and the sun had still not decided to show up. Woolen blanket seemed to be the better place to stay at this time, and got back for another nice nap.

There is no such 'sunrise' point here, said one of the local shop keepers when we later enquired. It was 8 in the morning and we had ordered some toasts and coffee. It was bloody cold outside and Ooty looked just awesome during the day. Went for a small walk to some shops close by to get to know the places nearby and to plan the day. Breakfast had arrived by then and Shekhar had already started on his 'Learn tamil in a few days' attempt for the day. Ram was busy taking this intensive crash course blasting his favorite tamil music, courtesy 'Sun Music' for providing the materials. It didn't take too long until we were all set to leave for the day. Ram, for some reason thought that his car 'must' have a bath too and arranged for someone to come and clean it just before leaving. This did give us some time to check out the places around for a while.

Cottage

Day II was more of a very peaceful day with a lot of visiting places and food. We got into a lot of so-called 'concept' photography which was the main culprit for hitting the 600 snaps mark :-) Car was almost ready, I could see it needed a lot of cleaning, maybe it's seeing water for the first time. One sensible thing that we all decided on during this time was to extend the 2-day trip to a 3-day trip. Ooty was too good a place to leave in just 2 days.

The Gate near our cottage..

The Monster

I happened to see this huge monster below resting in peace somewhere near the cottage.

Monster

It was frightening to see how it got hurt. There is no way this was going to be just-a-hit, we thought. Considering the height at which it got hit, it really didn't look like it hit another monster of it's size which could have prolly caused such a damage. It couldn't have been some two-wheeler either considering how 'bad' its got hit. The wheels and other parts of the body seemed to be intact. Taking a closer look at the injury, we could see traces of mud holding on to the damaged part. There were no traces of any other paint which means that it had prolly not hit another weaker four-wheeler. It should have hit some rock of a size slightly bigger than the monster's wheel, we concluded. Thank God this doesn't look like a few other poor souls were involved in this mess.

A few momnets later, the monster's owner happened to visit the place. A daily health checkup types I think. It had hit a huge dust-bin, he told us. A huge concrete-steel dust-bin. Yes, there were no other poor souls involved in this mess.

Cleaning was complete and it was time to decide which place to visit first.

Boating

Boating was our first spot. Place was just awesome. Lots of tall trees, nice cool weather, beautiful lake, lots of babes. A lot of honeymooners is what we noticed. I really didn't expect so many newlywed couples to visit Ooty during this time. It gets very cold and you hardly get to enjoy the place due to fog is what I heard. This was not the case anyways. Maybe this place gets too crowded during the 'season' time.

The Rose Park

We had then been to the Rose Park in Ooty. This one was huge with rows and rows of all kinds of rose varieties. Really not sure what makes a rose so special to the girls; well rose is beautiful but just another flower anyways. I think this should have been one of the most crowded places in Ooty during the season time. There was not much of a crowd in here probably coz this is not the season for rose. Well this is not the right time to get to Ooty in the first case.

Rose Park

Okay I just realized that there are too many snaps left to stuff in here and that uploading 'em to my Picasa album would be a better option. Would get all of 'em uploaded sometime. Will write further about the third day sometime later.

To be continued...
